Offers cardio and strength elements in one class. Busy schedules and obligations often force us to limit the time we spend exercising so we designed fitness classes that are both efficient and effective in burning calories, increasing muscular strength and endurance.
Cardio Interval and Cardio Interval Express
Interval workouts focusing on strength and cardiovascular exercises. Stations may include jumping rope, push-ups, speed and coordination, plyometrics, strength exercises and abdominal work.
Rip and Ryde
Our newest addition to the J. Douglas Williams group exercise schedule. This is basically cycle on steroids. Students will do intervals of cycle and basic upper body lifts with dumbbells. This is a total body workout. You get the best of both worlds, cycling for your heart and calorie burn. Weights to build and tone lean muscle to keep you metabolizing even after you leave class.
Basic Chair Fitness
This low impact class will offer a variety of cardio and resistance exercises designed to make day to day functions easier. A chair may be used for seated and/or standing support. Many exercises are preformed in a chair.
Low intensity class. This class will offer a combination of cardiovascular exercise, muscle toning and stretching.
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered as resistance; a chair is used for the majority of the exercises.
Stay heart healthy and happy with water fitness. Experience improvements in joint stability, coordination, balance, flexibility and muscular strength. You incorporate cardio and strength using water dumbbells, float belts and water gloves. Water fitness is easier on your joints than typical exercise.
