YOUTH SPORTS

Playing sports at the Dr. P. Phillips YMCA  is fun for everyone! Kids ages 3-17 can choose from soccer, basketball, flag football, volleyball, SPEED Lacrosse, and Tae Kwon Do. No matter which sport they get involved with, they will learn the basics of good sportsmanship and healthy competition … along with our core values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring.

Development Leagues

Age 3 through grade 11

$90 for members and $175 for non-members for each session

Leagues let kids take their skills to the next level and experience positive competition. Age-based offerings vary by session and by sport. Leagues consist of organized practices and team contests with coaches and officials. The first one or two weeks focus on skill development practice and teamwork, while the remaining weeks introduce scored games and meets along with continued practice. At the end of each session for 3rd grade and lower will receive a participation medal. 4th grade and up will have final championship game with the top winning team receiving a trophy and all other teams receiving a medal.

Our goal is to help foster life-long skills such as discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and sportsmanship in each player while developing them in becoming stronger athletes.
