Volunteer 175

2019 marks the 175th anniversary of the founding of the first YMCA in London, England in 1844 by young men united in their faith to care for their coworkers and communities. Working together to strengthen communities has been the hallmark of the YMCA ever since.

Today, each of our volunteers helps deliver the benefits of good health, strong connections, greater self-confidence and a sense of security to all who seek it.

From coaching youth sports and leading classes to being a committee member and advocating for the Y’s efforts, there are a variety of ways to volunteer at the YMCA of Central Florida.

And on June 8, we invite you to celebrate the YMCA’s 175th birthday by volunteering 175 minutes of your time with one of our community partners to help strengthen our Central Florida region!

On this day, people across the U.S. and many of the 119 other countries where the Y is present will all be giving back to their communities to make a collective impact felt around the world!
