High School Programs

High School Programs

Our High-School After-School Programs have been developed to give your student the best chance of success after high-school.

The YMCA out-of-school programs increase student achievement and reduce risk-taking behaviors through academic support, health and social enrichment programming. Our programs for teens in grades 9 through 12 allow them to feel connected with their community, school and/or church, while establishing a peer group that supports healthy habits.

Whether your teen’s goal is to master their favorite subject, improve their performance in a challenging subject, or engage in activities that develop healthy values and skills, the YMCA of Central Florida has a program designed to meet your needs.

Youth In Government (YIG)

This is a YMCA program that offers students the opportunity to serve their school and communities as part of a a yearlong model government process. Students design bills around issues they are passionate about and present these at a yearly State Assembly, in hopes of being voted into law!

Links 2 Learning (L2L)

L2L  is designed to create new opportunities for local middle and high school students. Every L2L activity incorporates functions of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), such as logic, analytical thinking and problem solving. Additional program components include industry field trips, college tours, guest speakers and community service projects.

Teen Achievers

Our Teen Achievers program works with middle and high school students to helps them develop a plan for life after high school in a way that sets them up for success. Teen Achievers work alongside volunteer mentors who help teens boost their academic achievement and learn positive values and a strong work ethic. This program helps your teen embark on their path to success.
