Camp Wewa is a 70 acre, all-inclusive, co-ed, overnight and day camp located in Apopka, Florida, operated by the YMCA of Central Florida. The adventure-based, skill development programs offer children aged 8–17 life-altering opportunities to forge new friendships, discover hidden talents, and build their own community. YMCA Camp Wewa provides a safe and exciting environment for children to grow in Spirit, Mind and Body through our transformative approach to teaching athletic, camping, artistic and leadership skills.

Resident Camps (Overnight Camps)

4 week-long sessions and 2 two-week sessions beginning on Sundays at 1:30pm and ending on Fridays at 2pm for ages 8–14. YMCA Camp Wewa is all-inclusive, so meals, snacks, activities, and specialized instructional staff are all included.

Campers stay in age and gender appropriate cabins with a maximum of 14 campers and a minimum of two full-time staff counselors.

In order to participate in camp activities, campers must have a recent Health History Form on file, which includes a current physical performed by a licensed physician within the last 12 months. Please download and complete our Health History Form prior to the start of your camper’s session.

Day Camp

Ages 8–14. Weekly sessions run Monday through Friday from 8am–6pm with free extended care from 8–9am and 4–6pm.

Counselor in Training (CIT)

A three week training and mentoring program for campers age 16–17 who are interested in pursuing a counselor position at YMCA Camp Wewa. CITs will spend their time in leadership specific activities as a CIT group and will stay in younger aged cabins learning from the best counselors at YMCA Camp Wewa. CIT participants receive 40 community service hours and will participate in a service project. Please note: completion of CIT program does not guarantee a paid counselor position in the future.

Session #1 – June 17–July 6

Leaders in Training (LIT)

LITs will work as a cohort to develop their team, individual and peer to peer leadership skills. This two week program features extensive facilitation training, communication and teamwork skills for campers ages 14–15. LIT participants receive 20 community service hours.

Carry Over Weekends

For campers who wish to stay between multiple camp sessions and extend their camp stay. Price includes laundry, meals and activities.

Try Me Weekends

For first time campers who want to try Wewa out for the first time, in a shorter span, with more one-on-one attention! Ages 8–13.
