Pathways

Aquatic Conditioning

Aquatic Conditioning is a pathway offered to students after completing swim lessons at the Y. This pathway works to increase endurance in the competitive strokes as well as improving overall swimming skills. Individuals who choose this pathway will also work to develop skills related to competitive swimming like flip turns, starts, and finishes. Instructors will also teach valuable lessons like how to use a pace clock and how to read a workout.

Session Details

This pathway is for anyone that is developmentally able to complete Stage 6, Stroke Mechanics. Each session will be 45 minutes and will have one instructor that teaches up to 10 participants. To maximize safety, lifeguards are always on the pool deck during lessons.

Endurance, Sports, and Games

Endurance, Sports, and Games is a pathway students can go through after completing swim lessons at the Y. This pathway works to enhance overall swimming skills and build up even more endurance to add to a healthier lifestyle. Individuals who choose this pathway will also learn more about various aquatic sports such as water polo, snorkeling, diving, and synchronized swimming. While students can learn more about fun aquatic activities, instructors will also teach valuable lessons like diving safety and how to use clothing to float.
