ARTHUR “PAPPY” KENNEDY PRAYER BREAKFAST
Each year the YMCA of Central Florida brings community members and leaders together to celebrate the lives and legacies of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Arthur “Pappy” Kennedy, Orlando’s first African-American elected official. This event is a great opportunity to develop stronger, more integrated communities, provide support for people and families, and promote positive change overall.
HEALTHY KIDS DAY
Healthy Kids Day is a day filled with family activities that is open to all members of the community. We know how important it is to keep kids moving and learning all summer long. On Healthy Kids Day, we’re helping parents kick off an awesome, active summer for the kids and kick start a healthier, happier lifestyle for the whole family.
CELEBRATION OF PRAYER
Celebration of prayer is a breakfast that is held each year during Holy Week. It is a unique opportunity to celebrate the YMCA’s Christian heritage and mission that has guided our organization for over 150 years. Join us in a celebration that will strengthen the spirit of our community, while hearing from our guest speaker.
SAFETY AROUND WATER WEEK
Safety Around Water is a 5-day introductory swim program for youth ages 5–12 years-old. Each day, children will enjoy water safety education and character development lessons in a safe, structured environment. The program is free, open to the public and will be offered at YMCA Family Centers across Central Florida.
