Four local YMCA Aquatic Center underwater hockey players have been selected to TEAM USA to represent the United States in the World Underwater Age Group Championships in Castellon DeLa Plana Spain Aug 6th -15th. Congratulations to John Meisenheimer VII, Jake Meisenheimer Sam Mariani, all of Orlando and Conrad Dale, a dual citizen, from New Zealand, who has been living and training with the Meisenheimers this summer.

80 Local Teens Attend YMCA Christian Values Conference at Blue Ridge

The statistics are sobering: According to the National Center for Health Statistics, obesity has doubled in children and quadrupled in adolescents over the past 30 years. And with it has come a host of chronic diseases – including diabetes and high blood pressure – that were once only seen in adults.
